Type 2 Diabetes Organizations
American Diabetes Association (ADA)
The ADA is an excellent resource for information on diabetes prevention and management. Their website offers tons of information on nutrition, weight loss and advocacy. You can also find your local office to get involved with the community.
American Heart Association (AHA)
Cone Health Resources
These classes are available as a benefit to Cone Health employees and their dependents. A guest is always welcome to attend with you – just mention it when you schedule a class. Classes cover topics such as:
- Diabetes overview
- Basic meal planning
- Staying healthy (tests, annual checks, exercise and stress management)

Annie Penn Hospital diabetes classes are offered in the dining room on the first and third Monday of each month. Learn about Diabetes Management Basics (Survival skills), and Meal planning; classes are 2 hours long. *Registration is required. Please call for more information about class times and to register 336-951-4731. No referral is necessary to attend and classes are free.
